Lost In The House Tour

The Lost In The House Tour is a brand-new theatrical paranormal investigative adventure. For the 98 years that the house has been open to the public it has hosted paranormal explorers, mediums and even master magicians who came looking for evidence that couldn’t be explained. During the Lost In The House Tour, brave guests will be guided through the dark & dizzying hallways of the Winchester Estate in search of answers.…will you find them, or will the House’s secrets remain untold?

The Lost In The House Tour is included in the All Hallows’ Eve ticket as is the outdoor Jack O’ Lantern Trail.  The trail features dozens of hand carved Jack O’ Lanterns displays and photo-ops throughout the Victorian Gardens, and culminates with an incredible projection mapped light show that uses the iconic front of the mansion as a canvas.

This tour is appropriate for ages 13 and up.  Tickets for All Hallows’ Eve includes both the Lost in the House Tour and the Jack O’Lantern Trail.

  • All Hallows’ Eve is our new seasonal special event offered on select autumn nights through Halloween. This year, All Hallows’ Eve features the Lost In The House Tour, an indoor theatrical paranormal investigative adventure – and as an added bonus –  the family-friendly Jack O’ Lantern Trail through the Victorian gardens.

  • If you want to go inside the mansion – you must purchase the All Hallow Eve ticket.  This includes the Lost in the House Tour AND estate wide access including the Jack O’ Lantern Trail through the Victorian gardens.

  • If you want access to the gardens and outdoors activities only – you should purchase the Jack O’ Lantern Trail ticket.   This is recommended for families with small children or those that are not comfortable with a scarier nighttime tour.

  • This is not a historical tour. The Lost In The House Tour is an indoor theatrical experience with state of the art special effects, professional actors and some jump scares and haunt elements.  Many of historical aspects of the home will not be visible during the show. For the history of the house, we recommend a daytime tour.

  • Guests that have purchased an All Hallows Eve ticket must select a tour time for the indoor tour (Lost in the House).  Before or after their assigned tour time they can also enjoy the Jack O’ Lantern Trail and Lost in the House Light Show as well as enjoy themed food & beverages and other estate activations.   The Lost In The House Tour itself is approximately 60 minutes, but we recommend guests plan for at least a 2 hour visit.  **Please note that the Jack O’ Lantern Trail will close at the last tour time of the night, so if you have a last tour of the night we recommend you arrive 1 hour prior to your tour so you have ample time to enjoy the Jack O’ Lantern Trail.**

  • There is a tremendous amount of construction surrounding the Winchester Mystery House at this time, and parking is limited.  There are two parking lots at Winchester Mystery House that are available as well as overflow parking across the street at Santana Row.  Please give yourself at least 30 minutes for parking and getting through security in order to not miss your tour time.

  • For children 13 and up we recommend purchasing the All Hallows Eve Ticket which includes both Lost in the House Tour and the the Jack O’ Lantern Trail.  The indoor tour experience includes mild to medium scares, loud noises, strobe lights and fog machines.  We recommend strongly recommend the outdoor Jack O Lantern Trail in the gardens for families with young children. Children under 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while on property.

  • All event Guests — including adults — may dress in their favorite Halloween costume and must follow these and other guidelines:

    • Costumes should be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive or violent.
    • Guests may wear masks. However, masks must not obstruct vision and eyes must be visible at all times.
    • Costumes should not drag on the ground or present a safety hazard to the Guests or staff.
    • Costumes should not contain sharp objects, pointed objects or accessories that may accidentally strike another Guest.
    • Costumes should not contain any weapons which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
    • Guests who do not adhere to these guidelines may be refused entry into the event unless his or her costume can be modified to meet the above standards.
  • Tickets must be purchased in advance at winchestermysteryhouse.com.  Many nights do sell out so we encourage you to purchase tickets in advance.

  • Winchester Mystery House adheres to all state and county protocols,  please visit our health & safety page for details on the latest mandates.

  • There are 16 guests per tour group. Should you require more than 32 tickets, please reach out to our sales department for group pricing.
